Kiran Bir Sethi teaches kids to take charge

I came across this video on the TED website last week. I just wanted to share it! It speaks volumes for itself.

All I can say is when you believe in children and teach them that they can do something - then what is to hold them back?

This video highlights the beauty of what can happen when we have faith in children – when teachers give them sole responsibility and allow them to lead their own learning.

I don’t know about you, but for children who were ‘designing solutions to a diverse range of problems’, and within this 32 children who managed to prevent 16 child marriages, is clear evidence that this is something children excel in – when given the opportunity.

Educators have to shift the power balance that currently lies within education, across all sectors.

“If not us, then who? If not now, then when?”
